The bohr effect

I'm really interested in how you would explain the bohr effect. I understand it as oxygen dissociates from hemoglobin in an acidic environment and that increases the exchange in working tissue. I've heard a lot of people are having a hard time comprehending it so i'm curious how you would explain it.

The Bohr effect means hemoglobin lets go of oxygen easier in acidic, high-CO2 spots like working muscles, so tissues get more oxygen when they need it most...It's all about efficient oxygen delivery.

Yeah, that's the gist of it, working tissues produce more CO₂, which makes the local environment more acidic. The drop in pH changes hemoglobin's shape slightly so it lets go of oxygen more easily, the body's way of sending more O₂ right where it's needed most.

Wouldn't it make more sense if people saw the Bohr effect as the body's smart way of dropping off oxygen where it's needed most like in acidic, high-CO₂ tissues, rather than just a chemistry fact?
